For this meeting, Jude Mollenhauer of Otterbein University, will give a presentation on the harp. 

        JUDE MOLLENHAUER, Principal Harpist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) from 1985 – 2018, earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with the eminent Carlos Salzedo. She spent the following season as Principal Harpist with the Icelandic National Symphony in Reykjavik, Iceland and returned to the U.S. to become Principal Harpist with the Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Grand Opera and the Philadelphia Lyric Opera Companies.  In addition, she was solo harpist with the Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra for 10 years.  Jude has appeared in numerous solo recitals including Carnegie Recital Hall, and she has participated in many summer music festivals such as the Marlboro Music Festival, Grand Teton Festival and Colorado Music Festival, as well as Music at Gretna in Mt. Gretna, Pennsylvania.  She has also performed in several National Conferences of the American Harp Society.   

        Jude also holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and has served on the Faculties of The Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts), Drexel University and Glassboro State College, New Jersey.  She co-founded The Chamber Arts Players at the Philadelphia College of Art with a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.  In 1994, she was invited to perform at the Second Shenyang International Music Festival in Shenyang, China.  For ten summers, Jude was the music director of a Harp and Drama Camp held in Columbus.

       In addition to her orchestral work with the Columbus Symphony, Ms. Mollenhauer has been featured as soloist with various orchestras, and in chamber music performances throughout Central Ohio.  She has recorded four CD’s, adjudicated International, as well as Regional Competitions, and is currently on the Faculties of Capital and Otterbein Universities.
