Since its inception, Village in the Ville has grown five times in size to include 115 members. That’s 115 people with a unique relationship to the Village - its purpose, mission, and values. With so much growth, we would like to take a moment to tend our soil: to revisit the questions from which our Village grew, as well as to consider the fundamental possibilities our Village represents.

What would our society look like if it were built to support aging in place and community? What do we want to create together that would make the difference? What does it mean to be rooted in reciprocity? Or, to ask the same question in a slightly different manner: What can we create together that we cannot create alone? We come together not so much to reach a consensus or define the Village as any one thing, but to honor the unique perspectives, gifts, and needs of our community members. We come together, each of us, as cultivators of our community.

So, please join us on Thursday, June 22 at the Whetstone Shelterhouse (3901 N. High St.) from 10 AM to 12 PM for our Back to Our Roots event! If you have any questions or would like to donate something for us to snack on during the event, please contact:
