This month's topic: To Move or Not to Move? That is the Question!

As we age, our housing needs and wishes may change. Some of us might wish to modify the home we have loved for many years to accommodate our changing needs. Others may consider a move to a more manageable home, one that is easier to maintain for older adults. Some seniors are exhausted by yard work and snow shoveling and are considering a condo or an apartment. Another older adult may wish to move to be closer to adult children and grandchildren. Or a significant life event, such as the loss of a spouse or serious health issue, might generate a wish to be in a community with more interaction and support, such as an independent assisted living situation. There are certainly multiple possibilities, and one size definitely does NOT fit all. Let’s discuss the pros and cons of the various options to help us make the best decision for ourselves.
