Newark Earthworks is one of many Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks built by American Indians 2,000 years ago. The Earthworks sites in Ohio are sacred spaces for American Indians to gather and practice spiritual traditions, celebrate, and connect with one another and the world around them. Join us for a fun filled day of learning and great experience at the newly opened Octagon Earthworks.
Transportation will be provided. We will depart the CRC at 11:15 AM. Please be at the CRC by then if you plan to ride with us.
We will lunch together at the Newark Earthworks shelter houses after our tour at approximately 1:30 PM. Please pack a lunch. (We also recommend eating a big breakfast to tide you over until lunch.)
We will be doing lots of walking, so please wear comfortable shoes and clothes to walk in and wear sunscreen or a hat to manage the sun.
